There's always room for one more!

Greetings friends and family, it is with great pleasure that we introduce the soon to be newest member of The Martinson family, Rose Nacheca.  This may be a shock to many of you so let me explain.  Rose Nacheca is a three and a half year old little girl from Haiti.  She is from the orphanage that our church supports in Leogane Haiti.  Rose Nacheca was born in a straw hut to a mother who was unable to care for her.  Rose had significant health issues at birth.  With little money or medical intervention, it became impossible for her mother to care for her.  She came to the orphanage in August of 2009 when she was 2 years old.  At that time she weighed 11 pounds 6 ounces.

Rose has been living with The Sorensen family since July 2010.  We met Rose Nacheca in July when she arrived in the United States to get much needed medical intervention.  We didn't realize then that this little 3 year old would change all of our lives forever.  She has made tremendous progress in 9 short months!  Her medical team included cardiologists, geneticists, an endocrinologist and many more specialists.  In March 2011 she had open heart surgery to fix her congenital heart disease.  She now has a heart that is beating perfectly inside of her chest.  Praise God! The Sorensen's knew God had called them to help Rose medically. As they prayed and sought God's guidance on what to do next, they realized they were to pray for Rose’s forever family. About a month ago Brett felt a need to contact the Sorensen’s to find out what the plans were for her in the months to come.
With her medical struggles behind her, her time here in the United States was almost up.  We felt God call us to step in and give this precious child a home.  She is already a part of this community who loves her and supports her and we feel this is where she belongs, WE are where she belongs.
We have started all of the necessary paperwork and studies to begin the adoption process.  Some of you know how challenging this can be.  One of the biggest challenges we face is raising $15,000 in the next 15-30 days. (Don't worry I laughed too when I heard this too) The sum is daunting, but I realized if we can break it down into manageable pieces then we might just have a shot at it! If 1,500 people chose to give only $10 each, the funds would be raised and one daunting piece of the puzzle would be complete
Please prayerfully consider what God would have you do to help keep Rose here and help us welcome her into our family. This is a very tangible way you can make a difference one little girls' life! We do not want this little girl to leave our hearts forever, families that love her and a community that has welcomed her with open arms. We know we have so much to learn from this vibrant, singing, dancing, spit fire of a girl and we are delighted to welcome her into our family!
You can contribute at any Klein Bank to “Rose’s Adoption Fund” ,through paypal or our address is below. Please share this request with anyone you know who may want to help Rose and our family in this journey.   Our contact information if you have further questions is:
